I arrived at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport last night at about 12am local time. Grad students picked the eight of us up and brought us to Chulabhorn Research Institute. Right now I only have access to a public computer but I'll get a wireless login soon enough so I can use and upload stuff through the laptop, so no pictures yet. :(
As soon as we got off the plane the air was very hot and humid. It's seems like it is always that way. Hopefully I can get used to it. The forecast for the next five days is scattered thunderstorms with a low of 82 and high of 92. The sun is really strong here as we are near the equator.
Today, we met with the Thai doctor leading the program over here and went to the IT Square Mall in Bangkok with three of the grad students. Got to check out the food and sights there. We bought a bunch of exotic fruits and brought them back to the residence to try them out. Everything is very inexpensive
We're staying in hotel-quality rooms, with cleaning and everything. Very nice accomodations.
I'll be able to put up all my pictures when I get wireless access.
